Congress 2017

Registration is now open for the 2017 MACE Annual National Congress.

This year’s congress is hosted by the MACE Board, with the kind support of the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits).

Date: 29 November to 1 December 2017

Venue: Wits School of Governance, 2 St Davids Place, Parktown, Johannesburg

Congress theme: “The power of innovation and creativity – making an impact and adding value.”

Programme:

This year’s exciting programme is filled with a variety of stimulating elements, including:

  • expert presentations by industry leaders and sectoral specialists in fields such as marketing, branding, event management, alumni relations, communication and electronic communication, student recruitment, social media, and advancement practice
  • keynote addresses related to making an impact and adding value
  • professional skills development sessions for MACE practitioners in Marketing, Internal/External Communication, Advancement/Development, Alumni Relations and Student Recruitment
  • peer learning and sharing forums, showcasing best practice in our respective disciplines
  • panels and roundtable discussions
  • a prestigious gala dinner at the Johannesburg Country Club to announce and celebrate the Excellence Awards winners
  • a welcoming cocktail at the Wits Art Museum
  • our AGM
  • a bus tour, social/networking opportunities, and
  • lots of fun.

Cost:

R5 600 per delegate for members

R7 000 per delegate for non-members

This includes all meals served during the Congress, the City Sightseeing bus tour of Johannesburg, the welcome event, and the Excellence Awards ceremony.

Cape Town

Congress 2016

In 2016, the MACE Annual Congress returned to Cape Town – the Mother City. The Congress was hosted by the MACE National Board of Directors, and held at the Pearson Institute of Higher Education in Durbanville. A record 207 delegates attended the congress.

Congress 2015

The 2015 Congress was held in Durban and was hosted by the University of Zululand. 165 delegates attended the three-day congress.
