Ilze Bakkes

Ilze has over 20 years’ experience in marketing. She gained valuable experience in the public sector for 13 years, before making the change to the private sector and ultimately to the education sector.

She holds a BA Communications degree and a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration.

Her passion for student recruitment was ignited with her appointment in the Department Marketing and Recruitment at the University of the Free State in 2011. As a proud alumnus, the UFS is close to her heart. The recruitment of students and the marketing the UFS product give her great joy and satisfaction. She thrives on generating ideas and content through creativity, innovative thinking, and a good measure of imagination.

She is married to her school sweetheart Herman and mother to Brendan and Andrea.
