Brightness Sibongile Mangolothi is a Director at HERS-SA, an NGO that specialises in women’s leadership development in higher education. A former academic with more than a decade of experience at public and private universities. She held leadership positions in higher education as a PR and Communication Department Head of Department at Nelson Mandela University and Head of Program IIE AdvTech. Brightness’s research, training, and consulting areas include strategic communication, leadership, leadership communication, women leadership, diversity management, workplace bullying, mentorship, and coaching. She has supervised and graduated post-graduate students and presented and chaired national and international conferences. She is a Standard Bank Rising Star Finalist and the African Civic Engagement Academy Fellow at the University of Georgia. Brightness has been featured in major South African media outlets. A former Public Relations Institute of Southern Africa (PRISA), Eastern Cape Regional Chairperson, and PRISA Board Member. In her capacity, Brightness is a founder and Director of Litmus Consultancy. She has mentored women at BWA Eastern Cape. She is passionate about women and youth development.
