Patience is currently the Divisional Executive for Human Capital at the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC). She holds a BAdmin degree in Industrial Psychology from the University of Durban-Westville (merged with the University of Kwazulu-Natal), a BAdmin Honours (Industrial Psychology) from the University of South Africa (UNISA), and a Certificate in Business Leadership from UNISA’s School of Business Leadership. She is an experienced Human Capital practitioner and has held many different roles in the Human Resources space.
Her career spans many years and across different sectors and organizations such as, Times Media Limited, Total Energies, Denel SoC Limited and the University of Pretoria where she was the Executive Director for Human Resources and Transformation.
Patience was also a Special Advisor to the Minister for Public Service and Administration and later consulted as a director of her own firm, Thusa Corporate Solutions. Patience has also held several board and board committee roles as a non-executive director and has chaired human resources committees in some of them. She is a shareholder at NOVO Energy (Pty) Ltd, an alternative energy company based in Kyalami.
As an impact-driven leader passionate about talent development across multi-generational teams, she serves as the advocate and lead sponsor of an Under-35 Youth Coaching Programme that equips young professionals with the tools and strategies to thrive both personally and professionally. She firmly believes that young professionals should be supported early in their careers to craft a clear vision, set meaningful goals, and define a personal brand that empowers them to shape their own destinies.
